I finally broke down and purchased a new 2006 Coupe, and unfortunately got a bad one. The battery keeps going dead after the car sits for more than a day. After 3 trips to the dealer, they claim a faulty radio is the culprit. Anyone else have electrical gremlins with their g35? This car has left me stranded more times than every other car I have owned COMBINED!

Doesn't that fall under the lemon law?

If it's brand new, then the dealer has to fix it under your warranty. So I don't see what the issue is.

Yes, it is covered under warranty but it is such a hassle having to deal with it. One more failed attempt and it will qualify as a lemon.

Somtimes that happens. I hate to hear that it happened to you but don't let it get you down. Once they fix it it will be the awesome car that you wanted.

I understand the hassles and inconvenience and for a $35-40K car there is no reason for that to happen.

Make sure that your salesman makes it up to you with a couple of free details or something. I would make them pay anyway. Let us know how it turns out.

Have they replaced the battery yet? We had a similar issue with our '05G. My wife was at a dinner party, and when it was over someone looked outside and asked if anyone was getting picked up. Turns out that the G was sitting there with one headlight on (even though they were off when she went inside). Then it wouldn't start. We called roadside assistance and they jumpstarted the car. Took it home and I put it on a charger overnight so that I could be reasonably sure that it would start and get her to the dealership the next morning. She took it in and they load tested the battery and said everything was OK. That night the battery started dripping acid on the garage floor. Had it towed in the next day and they replaced the battery and did an extensive cleaning under the hood and wheel well. Fine ever since...

So there's my experience... I blame it on the fact that the car sat for about 6 months at the dealership before we bought it. So the battery probably got stressed being deep cycled and jump started several times during that period.

Good luck!

Heath
