Sounds very promising. I know from being in the G/Z community for a long time now that the 6MT clutch is a much hated part of an otherwise very balanced vehicle.

How much are you planning to set the price point at? This is key. I may know a few people who would love to help be test subjects for your project.

Much interest shown, and many answers given, over at G35Driver.

I would get one if I had a 6MT!

I would be very interested in your clutch mod. I've been driving manuals all my life and found the G35 to be a real bugger. Your idea sounds like a winner. When you get to the pricing, let us know.

His thread on the other forum says "I'm anticipating that these complete bracket assemblies, painted and with all needed hardware would be less then $100 shipped to your door."

I think it's really cool for an enthusiast who's also a mechanical engineer to be undertaking this. What would be even cooler would be if my arthritic hips could handle a clutch in stop and go traffic--rush hour for instance. I'm relegated to AT these days.

I remember that Shelby in that color. Kid in my little town had that as his first car. His dad was VP for sales promotion at Lane Furniture, made six figures when five was darn good money. His next car was a Pantera. It was a POS compared to the GT500.

It's my hips, not my knees. Pretty much the same deal except it doesn't affect golf as much as bad knees do.

Mudgen, sorry I missed the hips part, I had knee's on the brain with my fathers story

pretty awesome that you took your time/expertise to improve on something that so many people hate about the z/g. i am definitely interested in one of your custom brackets when you start producing them. i posted over in your thread on g35driver but it seemed to stop moving for now. i look forward to your progress and seeing the outcome of this project. :bigthumb:

m tr4nch Thanks. It's complements like yours from all the owners who feel as I do about the stock clutch that make all the hard work and effort worth it.
I just sent you a PM with updates on the project and the new website with pics of the prototypes in development.

Unfortunately as I'm not a registered vendor here I can't give you any more details on the product or the website unless the Mods are willing to allow it?

Thanks,
Ryan

Mods joe603 and 'The Converted' Thanks for the PM's. Unfortunately I can't send either of you a reply as it tells me I'm not authorized to use the PM system here.
You need to have 10+ posts to use the PM function.
