1991 Sentra Japanese made, wouldn't start no fuel pressure so I installed new fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel pump relay. Turn the key on and the pump makes priming sound for s few seconds but wouldn't start put a fuel line directly from the pump into glass jar to catch fuel had someone turn key the pump made the priming sound but no fuel came from the new pump put finger over the line no pressure coming out. Car has been in the same family bought new and has always been maintained. Took it in to be smoged a few months back, CA, and it ran very rough since until it just wouldn't start. What would cause a fuel pump to prime but no fuel out of it? Any suggestions would be great.

you might have a clog fuel line i would check that first. its not electrical so your good on power
