Hello,

I recently followed your instructions and repaired a fuel pump control unit. Thanks to your excellent guidance, my infiniti is back on the road. However, for the third time while starting my car, the engine did not cranck and I hear the fuel pump struggling. After a bit of cranking the car eventually started. Can you suggest what the problem may be?

Thank you kindly,

Charles

Is the pump bad? That's what normally kills the control unit.

Scott is correct about needing to replace the fuel pump at the same time as the FPCU but it also sounds (from your brief description) that your battery could be on its last leg. Any idea how old it is?

How did you repair the FPCU? Improve the ground path on the board?

FP probably caused the problem in the first place.

Must test pressure vs. rpm and report back.

I just had one of those quiet moments as I realized that tangalora lives on, years later, through her amazing posts on this forum. Thank you, Alora.
