You already got new used seats?......or do you want us to tell you not to bother because most used seats are trash?Or you spent $8000 on a new drivers seat from infiniti?

No to all of what you said. Especially....well everything.

I tried uploading "before and after" pics, however I didn't use the brackets. I spoke to Wes a couple hours ago and he's gonna post them up.

I had an Upholstery shop that comes highly recommended do the front pair. It's who GAS (Pimp my ride) uses when they rebuild interiors.

Im pretty impressed by the job, ive seen some iffy upholstery jobs on Q before.. This is BY FAR the best upholstery job Ive seen on a Q, congrats Dimitri.

It certainly makes you feel good about the money you spent when you can throw your hind quarters in what you just bought.... Certainly applicable to seats, injectors and plenum hoses not so much....

They look fantastic!! You should buy some crummy seats and store them so that if you ever sell the car you can pull the good ones out and sell 'em to a fellow Nico'er.

Kindof off topic-why can't a manufacturer make leather seats that last? Both Lexus and Infiniti have this problem. I've seen ads for 40 year old Jaguars that have leather in better condition.

Great Job! How much did that cost if you don't mind sharing.

FWIW, it's rare that I've seen leather last more than 10 years. It just gets alot of wear, sits out in the sun and dries out, etc.

40 year old Jags are probably babied from the begining and don't have 150k or 200k miles.

Thanks guys,

The cost was certainly not $8,000. A mere 12% of it and some change....$1,000. I had gotten a quote from them for 600 per, a long time ago. This time around, the guy that gave me the quote was not there, so I just played the violin for a bit and was able to get it down to a grand. Also, they already told me that they'd do the rear for the same whenever I need it.

So now no Mercedes E55, because I'm keeping her for another .........60,000 miles hopefully.

Andy, that's an interesting idea but I don't think my wife would be too thrilled with a couple of messed up looking seats that take up space in the garage.

Hang 'em from the rafters in the garage. She'll never notice them up that high.

Your seats look great by the way.

Thanks for all the replies.

Jay, I'm also glad she'll stay. Now I gotta do a full "detail job" replace all the rubber (bushings etc) and possibly motor mounts.

Replace that tacky seat trim. Doesn't look right with that beautiful seat job.

I don't follow! What trim are you talking about? That hard plastic that's broken?

If the pic doesn't come up. It's #11 on the myspace pg. I've outlined what I think you're talking about with red ink

ddrumman - could you post shop info? I was surprised to see someone in SoCal would do this at such a reasonalbe rate. Trimline in Redondo quoted me $700 for just my driver's seat and arm rest!

Chatsworth Auto Upholstery 818-882-5161. Talk to Javier or Miguel.

I hope they can take care of you. They did a good job for me. He did...however mention that had he known it'd need as much leather, he'd have charged me more. Also, I was lucky he did not have to order the leather. He had a very good match (color wise) in the shop.

Good luck!

qship96..when you ordered that "finisher part" was it in backorder mode and did it take long after you ordered it?

Cheryl at IOS said that NO ONE in the country has it, and that they'd have to wait to get it from Japan. It could take 1 week or 6 months.

Part was in stock, just last month! Maybe I got the last one? I would go ahead and order it,Nissan is usually pretty quick for any part I ever had to wait for.

Well, I just ordered it.

She did reconfirm what qship said. qship my man, you got the very last one that was available in the whole US. When you ordered it it was NOT in backorder as it is now. So you didn't have to wait but a few days. Let's just hope that it is closer to the week rather than the 6 months.
