Hey folks,

I have a silver 2006 M35 Sport I bought at Sewell one year ago with 26K miles on it. Now I have about 34K miles on it and the dealer told me the front brake pads are at 0.3 and the rear are at 0.8 and I need to replace the front. They "offered" to charge me $295 to do the fronts but I declined since that seemed too high.

I simply need my rotors turned and front pads replaced. Plus my calipers feel like they are gripping or something.

Where do you Dallas-sites go? I am in North Dallas and need to have this done ASAP but a bit tired of throwing money at Sewell. Nice guys but cash is tight.

Any thoughts? Should I buy my own pads and have a mechanic turn the rotors and install them? What is an average price?

I am sorry but I am an IT geek and can't do them myself. I would love an upgraded Brembo kit but the costs seem a bit "prohibitive".

Looking forward to your feedback!

Hey, i'm in Frisco.

I also got 2006 M35 (non sport) from Sewell, cool.

I got my rear brakes done last week at Firestone in Frisco (Off Preston)They are very good and there was a coupon for $40 off... Total cost for the rear pads, machine rotors and inspect brake system. $119 after the $40 off. Check the newspaper, i think the coupon still there.

Have you done any other mods to your car yet? i just got the NAV hack done last week too, very impressed and if you need more info, just let me know.

my next mod is to upgrade stock HID from 4300k to 6000k, but don't have clue on how to get to them. If you have any resource, let me know

Dallas Brake and Allignment is a great place. It's not north, but worth the drive downtown in my opinion. It's actually on Industrial by the Courthouse. I've taken three different cars there for different things, including brakes, and have been very pleased.

The first brake job I took there I told them to replace pads all around. About an hour later they called me and told me I did not need rear brakes, that I should just do the front. Any time a service shop calls and takes money out of their pocket I tend to trust them.
