Just found your forums this evening and wanted to say hello to everyone. I have been a long time Datsun fanatic since I could drive. I’ve had alot of 620s, even a 720 as well as a few 240s and 260 z cars. But my favorite truck has to be the 620 that’s the reason I’ve only had 1 720 series. I lucked out on how I came a cross this truck. About 3 months ago we decided to move to Tx cause my wife was accepted to school there. So I had to find a truck. The truck I found was a 94 f250 with a 460 and a 5 speed for $1500 eww can you say 10 mpg!! well I was on my way to pick it up and I ran across an old 620 with a for sale sign sitting in a guys front yard, so I stopped and looked at it. It is so truly ugly but then again I don’t know how many old 620s start off beautiful. And for $500 I thought it was a pretty good deal. So I bought it and wow was my wife upset with me. But in my mind the truck was perfect way better fuel economy (I’m hopping for around 26 I had a 73 way back when with a L16 and the same transmission and got almost 30) a L20b with a DGV, a reverse pattern 5 speed and front disks. Not to mention it has a flat bed on it. The longer I drove it home the more I liked it. However I don’t think other drivers felt as I did judging from the looks I was getting, or it could have been that I was cruising rite along with traffic at 75mph, but at least I knew she has character. Anyways I'm sorry to ramble on about my truck but I am excited to be able to share my journey on building this truck as did Iphlebmaster which I really enjoyed (Thank you) Which is some thing I could not do before due to the lack of inter-net back then. So I hope you all enjoy watching this truck transform as much I will. Oh and the truck is growing on my wife cause she has let me move back into the house

This is the day we got her home

Poor truck I couldnt believe the wiring job in her

Like the bumper? I though I may need a red flag it stuck out so far!! I need to find a new one.

Okay I found an old bumper off a toyota. So now I just need to grind on it and save what I can to reuse when I rebuild it for the Dat. Can you Tell what steal I reused? I only had to buy one piece of prefabed steal for $7. Thats all I spent on this bumper and 4 hours to build it.

Old Bumper Before I started the tear down

Finished bumper minus a mounting plate for the licence plate light, Chain tie down, and some paint

I welded a 1X1 tube for added clearance and also it gave me a nice large area to weld the reciever tube from the bumper to the spare tire tube. Adding extra streinght I hope. The notches I cut out of the tail light mounts are so I can access the drive unit so I can still drop the spare tire.

The test fit. Now I just need to finish it up.

There is no way that yours could be uglier than this one was when I got it. But it seems no matter how bad they look it always seems the more you like them.
