just got my M last week. there are a few mods id like to do. let me know any thoughts or any other "must have" mods:

1. side and rear shade (this might be a dealer mod but it would be great for the kids)

2. nav/dvd hack (ive read the controversy...)

3. auto start from key fob (this seems like an easy mod considering the push button ignition)

4. roof mounted rear dvd (would be great for the kids but i have heard some issues around rear view mirror visibility)

5. brakes (they feel subpar to me but maybe it will take some getting used to)

you have all the items I want to do on my M35 as well.

i've been looking but no luck.

1) Rear shade is a big mod, i asked the dealer and they told me not possible2) NAV hack, still looking for someone in North Texas can do it3) Not much need for remote starter4) Rear DVD, definitely love the OEM style... should be an easy add

1) I do/did dark tint instead2) Easy mod to do, done in under 30 mins3) not much a need for me either4) I have the adv tech, with one. Had I to do all over again, would definitely get them in headrest. Does a good job of blocking the rear view mirror in the OEM spot at ceiling.5) You're prolly in need of change.

thanks for the feedback. i also like the roof mounted screen but it does seem like it would introduce a little "crampiness" to the rear and id rather not block my rear vision. i just think the head rest screen look is so commonplace.
