This past Thursday I became the proud owner of a 2002 Q45 base model only options I have are navigation and rear sun shades (are they a option?)

The car is titanium with black leather and brownish birdseye mapple. It is a two owner car with 68,333 miles.

I paid $11,300. for the car making the purchase at a local Acura dealer. I bought a Caregard extended warrantee (hopefully) covering the car thru 100k.

The car is super clean, no paintwork, dings, or interior wear.

At first I felt I was getting a great deal but after a little research I realize I pretty much paid "market value" for the car.

Now for my question. I stopped by Infiniti of Norwood and asked the Service writer to run my VIN thru the Infiniti database. I was thrilled to find the car had been serviced throughout it's early life at Kelly Infiniti and later in life at Inskip Infiniti. It had complete front and rear brakes at 58,000 miles and all of its minor and major services.

I was planning on using Infiniti of Norwood to maintain the car. Any opinions of them as a service center? Anyone know of any good independent Infiniti repair shops in Southeastern Mass or RI? With all of the electronics in the car I am leaning towards using a dealer but would consider any other options.

Thanks in advance!

welcome to NICO Andrew!

The nice thing about the dealer is that they will be able to help you keep up on things, I would specifically ask if they have anyone there that is specifically familiar with this car, and specifically have that technician work on your car...

I suppose though it depends whats going on. For just turning wrenches any good import mechanic should be able to do the job. The problem you'll run into is if theres a problem, who do you turn to do an accurate and effective diagnosis of the problem?

Congrats! Looks like you bought your Q45 for a great price! I get my Q serviced at Prime Infiniti in Hanover, their are two techs there that have a lot of experience working on the F50 and the service manager is a good people too. They will give you a free loaner too---if they have loaners available.

Thanks! Hanover is a little out of my way but if they are that familiar with the F50's it might be worth the extra miles. Do you ask for those specific techs to work on your car when you make a service appt? If yes can I ask their names?

Also anyone have anything to say Good or Bad about Infiniti of Norwood?

Thanks again

Andrew

Back when I lived in Massachusetts I had my 1995 G20t and then my 2001 I30 serviced at Infiniti of Norwood. Towards the end before I moved to Virginia in mid 2008 my experiences there were pretty good. They took care of things pretty quickly for me and it was pretty easy to schedule an appointment.

You don't have to request a specific tech to work on the Q45. Making the extra drive out to Hanover may be worth it in the long run. The front end service at Norwood is great...but their service record is okay according to the reviews you can read about them. But again, it can't really hurt to deal with Norwood since it's closer to you. Try them out and report back. Neither is close to me but the service quality and honesty at Prime Infiniti has been stellar, so I've decided to stick with them until otherwise.

I LOVE THEM AT INFINITI OF NORWOOD!!!

They have such a great staff and the techs always seem to get it! I would suggest talking with Chris Musone (Advisor), he knows a lot about Nissan and Infiniti and is a definate strait shooter!

good luck with that car, I had one when they first came out and loved it!

Great to hear the good feedback on IoN. Chris Musone was the service advisor I met with and he ran the entire service history for my Q (all good news)I think I will try IoN for services first. If for some reason I am not happy I will switch over to Prime Infinit in Hanover.

Thanks again,

Andrew

Chris!

Great to hear you are part of this forum!

Infiniti of Norwood is where I will bring our Q.

Question do you have any experience good or bad with CareGard aftermarket warrantees? They are affiliated with Allstate Insurance Co. And the selling dealer convinced us we absolutely needed their "Deluxe" package. This warrantees the car to 100k or for 3 yrs. (the length of our loan)

Thanks again for taking the time out of your morning to help me learn more about the car!

Hi Andrew,

nice to hear from you! I have not had any dealings with your warranty company. If they are affilitated with Allstate, I have to assume they are very good. Usually the "deluxe package" means more components are covered. I do work with those type of companies on a weekly basis and they tend to be pretty good. Hopefully we will never have to use it, but if we do, you will be in good hands! talk to you soon.

Chris
