A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Same as usual. Basic warranty with a year by year price extension. However the new deal is that once you have extended you can extend it again as long as the warranty has not come up. Anyone familiar with AppleCare... same deal.

I just got my 2010 sentra SER ..

My basic warranty plan was 3 years 36,000 miles..

Optional silver package was 72 months 75,000miles ( something like that )

The guy at the dealership hooked me up with 60months 100,000miles...

Oh yeah, the price... 72month 75,000 was $1,490 and the guy gave me 60months 100,000miles for just $1,090..

Being that I travel a lot to school and work and such. I took the deal, it was like a steal. Honestly though, brand new car.. 5 years what can reallllllly go wrong. unless unlucky

Complete waste of money, and no that wasn't a steal, any good Credit Union can get them for WELL under a grand.

Easiest ripoff in history, and of course the stealerships perpetuate it like it's gold, well it is, to them.

I got one on a 97 Chrysler T&C as I knew they had transmission problems but the wife really wanted it. It had 30k on it and I got a 100k plan that covered EVERYTHING electrical and mechanical for $680. Coulda gotten the same thing for $720 on my '06 Hemi MegaCab that had 15k when I bought it.

Problem is that the aftermarket extended warranties have an even worse reputation for actually being honored than factory ones. That $1k will only be worth it if you need it, but that's the issue with any warranty. The added piece of mind is for some people, not others.

For a factory warranty I think you did very well. Nothing beats peace of mind. I would have done the same.

Actually, was this thread in reference to the announcement about CVTs? That extension is automatic for CVT-equipped cars.
