New exhaust

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Been looking for an exhaust for my ex35 but didn't want anything loud or raspy. I really liked the sound of my G37 coupe so I decided to install the muffler from a G37 on my ex35. It turned out well so I am enjoying my ex a lot more now.

Also I'm not new I've been gone for a year and was known as "onesbg37" but couldn't log in when I returned and couldn't get help with the password from admin so I just created a new user.

gr8330/onesbg37 - Please post pictures of the new exhaust on your EX. Why do you have to replace your exhaust on your EX?

The standard exhaust wasn't loud enough for me. As for pics the only visible difference in the stock and the G37 coupe mufflers is the color. Mine was black and the revised G37 muffler is silver. On my first post I left out that this is a bolt on swap, nothing was modified.

I have been wondering if that would work.

Welcome back :bigthumb:

As an aside, the webmaster email has been bombarded with spam enough to cause the geeks some serious headaches and late nights. We're glad you persisted. Thanks for contributing.

I wonder if the IPL G37 muffler is available yet.... :naughty: It has something like 5" tips and a deep throaty growl.

I didn't get a note asking for help, from you... so I'm glad you persisted as well.

I'm a new owner of a 2008 Ex35... I picked it because we needed an "SUV" or something that we could at least fold the seats down on. I am more of a car guy (3 series BMW, C class Benz, Etc) so the EX seemed like a great middle road option. Anyways, We had a g35 and g37x as a loaner since there were some problems with our EX when we first bought it and I agree that the G exhaust is way better sounding that the EX. I'm don't care to show everyone how loud my car is, I just wouldn't mind having something that tells me as the dirver " you just down shifted, and your car has 297HP which isn't bad".

gr8330- You metioned that your g exhaust was "bolt on" but I thought I read that there were some major differences between the pipes leading in. Do you have under body shots of how the pipes come in to the g exhaust? Or what did you have to do to put it in? I really think my wife might go for this exhast since she misses the G sound as well so I would love to copy you on this.

Direct bolt-on.

That video is my car. The muffler has gotten louder since then.

Combined with the Stillen CAI, it is a great sound under WOT!

txgcoupe,

From looking at your previous posts, that G37 muffler swap didn't produce that much of a change in sound for you initially right? DId you ever get that mid-pipe? What do you think made the biggest difference in sound--the Stillen CAI, the G37 muffler, etc.?

TIA

One of the reasons I bought the EX35 is because the exhaust is fairly refined, quiet, LOL! I never cared for the sound of some of the infiniti's exhaust note, Like G, etc. If I want something loud, it's on a fast car. Not that the EX is slow.. but it's not fast either. I put a nice exhaust on my GTO.. 4.6 seconds 0-60 stock before I modified it.. that is fast... 400+ horse as well.
