NEW EXHAUST FITMENT

Ok so i just baught a BLITZ NUR spec 3" catback exhaust for my 89 240sx hatch

but the stock cat is only 2.5 will the new one fit directly on or is there an adapter i need im flipin out cause i cut off my old one and it sounds like a tractor now ao i need it done

IIRC, the flanges are the same overall size. You'll be fine.

its not a stock cat its a magnaflow igh flow cat 2.5in but it doesnt look l,ike the flanges will fit i just wanna make sure it does before i get elbow deep and screwed

are you sure that a 2.25 or a 2.5 cat has a flange that even close to big enough to fit a 3" flange

That's not what you said the first post

hehehe, I have both 2.5" & 3" exhaust and respective cats. I don't remember seeing them as being totally different sized... IIRC, both the 3" gasket & 2.5" gasket were the same overall size, just different inside diameter.

guess you'll have to just crawl under there and check (you could just use the gasket and see if it will fit, simple as that.

Swapping exhausts only takes 30 minutes anyway.

i have the blitz nur-spec exhaust on my car and im using the stock sized cat.

i had the muffler shop weld on a 3" flange to my stock cat becuase the piping was a lot bigger so it wouldnt let me bolt it right up.
