Hi! This is my first post here but I'm hoping to have several more over the years....

I haven't found the 240SX I am going to purchase just yet, but considering that the newest one would have five years worth of drive on it already [be it mild or extreme], I know I am more than likely going to have to replace an engine.

Is there anywhere I can get a NEW engine instead of a stock yard or rebuilt one? I am looking preferably for a 1996 Black Automatic, SE is great but not necessary.

Hope someone can give me some leads! Thanks!

Christy

Why would you need to replace the motor? 5 years of normal driving is nothing to these motors, if maintained at all. Besides, I don't think you'll be able to find a brand new KA anywhere. What are you planning to do with this car that requires a new motor?

Well lets just put it this way, I have never had good luck with used cars, import or domestic. I've replaced two engines in the last two years plus one of the stock yard engines with only 50K is already giving me trouble.

I just figured if I could get a new one, why not- but was unsure where to even start looking.

Thanks!

The KA's seem to be bulletproof in my opinion. I have an '89 with 187,000 miles and I drive it hard. I have had no major problems with it. It still runs great. The only thing it does do is burn a little oil when I first start it.

Well I am beginning to see what the problem is with all the response I've been getting. My last two occassions of major issues were with domestics!

'fraid so. I'm too old to not know how to drive a 5-Speed aren't I? :)
