IMO 240's are expensive, and if you are paying a shop to do the work, it will cost a lot more. maybe worth it if you had the spare cash but for just a mildly performing DD... i dunno.rev_high_er wrote:
or simply be honest and tell me im well over my head!!!
extra details- i will purchase and have someone do the install (as much as id like to follow a DIY, i dont have the tools)- everything i can, i will do
i just bought a kade running w/ a/c, p/s, alternator, intake, exhaust manifold, dist., spark plugs, spark plug wires, all internals, all sensors, and basically i can swap it in right now and it will run, for 250$keith0486 wrote:just swap another ka in you can get them pretty cheap. if its just goign to be a dd then id just keep it stock for now with simple bolt on's.
ill be picking up the car tomorrow. ill look into this repair kit.killernoodle wrote:There are spark plug thread repair kits at autozone.
Save your money and keep the KA running for $20. Build another engine then drop it in when the time is right.
depends on what your putting in, im doing a ka-t build right now... im honing the cylinders, new piston rings, main and rod bearings, and new valve springs... i have a hookup at nissan, so all the internal parts only cost me $300 plus some gaskets and tubo gaskets...JoseBronx wrote:Sorry to thread-jack but OP prob has the same question. Around how much would does it cost to rebuild a ka?
