Hey, I own a 93 nissan 240 (s13) and recently put on an exhaust system and ram air intake. But after installing the intake it seems like between 1000 - 3000 rpm, the engine just doesn't want to go (seems like its choking), even when I floor it. It'll just continuously buck until it finally reaches 3000 rpms and then just takes off. I talked to my mechanic and he said there was nothing I could do about it, that it had to do with the ecu not being able to read the information sent from the new aftermarket performance parts the right way. The only way to fix it, he said, was to replace the stock ecu with an aftermarket one. But, before I go out and spend a few hundred bucks, I was looking for a second opinion. Thanks.

sounds more like your airflow meter is having a problem. either you put it in backwards or you have a wiring problem to it. do some voltage checks on it.
