Hi all,

I know that you guys are probably sick to death with armrest threads... but I'm desperate to get something into my S and of all the reading i've done, i've never seen this particualr ebay option posted.

Has anyone taken a chance on this one yet? I haven't seen any better pictures yet but it seems to be a little closer to the OEM look, could be wrong though.

Its even kind of tough to see how it would mount.

I would personally be skeptical of this. The auction says it includes no installation instructions, and doesn't offer a pic of the part installed. Could be just a generic part that the seller is leaving you to figure out how to fit it into your vehicle.

Looks clean though. I could be wrong and this could be perfect, but looks kinda shady. And it's from Hong Kong, lol.

Not sure, I like that its just a bit closer to OEM... but i'm not sure If I lake how obviously after market the mounting point looks after its installed. Looks more so than the stumpier one at least.

Bought one off ebay and installed it, and so far so good. It is not the folding one pictured, it is the other one they have.

Got the SL center console today, took about 20 mins to install, looks awesome, feels great... couldn't be happier.

If anyone else is planning to do this, the only thing I would note is that you'll be missing one 14mm nut that holds the center of the SL console down to a bolt that comes up through the floor of the car. The S console only uses the two bolt posts at the rear of the console but its not really a big deal, the SL console is sturdy and solid even without having the center torqued down.

It was kind of dark when I finished but i'll take some pictures tomorrow.

I have a similar one from EBay. If your expectations are low then it's good for the price. Screws into cup holder so it does get 'loose' over time. Now that I know that I value it being there, I'm on the lookout for the 'real deal' OEM on EBay. The seats are close enough that it keeps it stable but the pressure on the edge makes it seem like its going to break off. You get what you pay for and it was worth what I paid for it.

And I just bought an OEM from EBAY and installed it. Yes - you get what you pay for and I wish I hadn't wasted the money on the aftermarket brand. This sits at the correct height and it has the feeling that it's not going to break off and fall into the back seat when you put pressure on it. The fact that you can tilt it up is an added bonus. If money is a concern or you don't have the investment in the car emotionally - then go for the aftermarket. Otherwise, it's worth the few dollars more to scour the used parts sites to find an OEM.
