Well, I am pretty happy with the results..

Here is my setup:-Turbonetics ball bearing T3/T04E 57 Trim .50 A/R Compressor .63 A/R Turbine-555cc Nismo Injectors-Enthalpy Tune for 93 octane (I run 94)-Oil catch can a la beesandgoats.com integra kit-PWR I/C-2.5" IC pipes-HKS SSQV (Re-circulated)-Stock ignition-Aurora plug wires-NGK BKR6E plugs at .032"-3" DP-2.5" dynomax cat-Stock cat-back-3" E-cutout before cat

The red is with the e-cutout open (boost went up to 9.5psi)Blue run is through stock exhaust (cutout closed) at 8psi

45 more hp from 1.5 psi of boost is really good. those are some really good numbers. man i really need to get an enthalpy ecu....

I don't understand why you ran it up to only 6k rpm?

Very good chart, btw. Gratz!

Thanks guys.

I ran it to 6700rpm on the tach but I guess it didnt register that high. I was just pretty spooked with the open dump being so loud and not wanting to 'nade the engine on the dyno.

Most likely your stock tach is off. The inductive clamp used on the dyno is the most accurate. I know that my tach reads about 500rpm's lower than the SAFC2 shows near the redline mark.

Either way, good job on the setup and the numbers.

Yah still stock cat-back but I have a DMHPerformance.com e-cutout before the cat on the downpipe.

I would say the stock exhaust costs 20-25whp if we attribute 10hp/psi since the open downpipe was at 9.5psi and the stock exhaust was 7.5psi . (45-(2*10)=25).

I got the turbo used for $375 off NICO

Great idea, stock exhaust for quiet cruising.E-cutout for large power gain but louder for racing.

edit... How much louder btw? The turbine blades should cut down on some of the sound, compared to NA.

Thanks for the comments.

The cutout is very loud. It vibrates the seat and has a crazy sound to it. Very intoxicating! I am thinkin of puttin a 90* downturn on it to make it a little more bear-able.

Not sure how long/big they are but maybe put a couple resonators before the cutout?? Supposedly dampens sound without much/if any exhaust flow interferance at all.

Check out dmhperformance.com

It is way too short to add a resonator unless you do it after the opening.

I couldnt be much happier. I'm going to the drag strip tomorrow to see what it'll run.

E-cutouts are the HEAT!

I have one and surprisingly, a 90 degree turn down DID help a little bit with the noise/vibration...I can cruise around town in vacuum and not even really turn heads...l

I've since swapped out the Enthalpy for a custom tune by myself. I tuned fuel with a Innovate LC-1 and timing was advanced between 7-9 degrees throughout. I feel its quite a bit more responsive and pulls better even at 7psi.

Hopefully I'll get some new dyno numbers as soon as I put the new feramic clutch in.

so whats the deal with alot of KA-T owners not satisfied with enthalpy tunes?

I'm happy with mine. Yes it has a bit of timing retard, but it keeps you safe. I could run 87 and be safe most likely. How many threads have you read: My Enthalpy ECU blew my engine up... haven't read any.... he is good at what he does. From he reading information and sending a ecu that has dead on a/f and is hassle free, how can you complain. You want the extra power bring to him and dyno. I just run more psi and I'm safe

After I got my car dyno'd I requested another couple chips with a leaned out top end (was running 10:1 AFR). I got the chips in the mail and put them in. I then loaded the .bin to see what he did an all that he did was to shorten the injector latency which caused my engine to idle real lean and, in generalrun ****ty. I also experienced compressor surge and turbulence at the MAF during this time.

So after 10 emails, an insulting email and a month of excuses I decided to be proactive and make my own tune. I did that but fried the enthalpy board (maybe his circuit board is encrypted) so I ended up with a PLMS board and the option for 4 map switching. Innovate LC-1 later and I'm tuning by myself

Could you tune a car spot on based on an email?

I really can't complain.. His tune has held my car together for two years now even with probably 6 months of that being at 400whp+ and a lot of WOT time..

Can you give me more info on diy tuning? I'm really interested in doing it this summer. I'm interested in: what's needed, how much does it cost, how difficult is it?

Can you email me some more info? Or can I email you and ask questions as I get more involved?

Thanks,

Alex

Psh after 7 months and a revival of your thread... you still haven't told us what you ran that day?
