I've always had cold start issues with this motor now for over a year......when I would crank it cold it would sputter and die within a few secs of cranking....and I would usually have to re-crank 1-2 times before it would stay going. This was consistant with every cold crank. My dropping resistor crapped out a few weeks ago, so I ordered a new one from Nissan, and now all of a sudden, when I cold start it, it fires right up, and purrs like a kitten....weird

Thats good to hear. How much did it run and do you still have the oem parts number by chance?

Interesting. I have had little things here and there nibble away at the effort to cold start. New FPR. Iriduim plugs. New custom EPROM. Rewired the harness. New IACV. But it still has a little fit every now and again. I'll have to keep my eye on this. Thanks for the lead, and i will start looking for a new DR.

Keep in mind that a 1G DSM one can be wired in. So that may be a cheaper (?) alternative.

Yeah, total night and day difference than before the new DR......doesn't struggle at all to stay idling @ cold start-up anymore.

Alright, the part number is 22698-R2000; CA16DE Drop Resistor.I got it from here for under $48http://www.nissanpartscheap.com

Go to "Online Catalog", then copy/ paste the part # into the "Search By Factory Part Number" field

Yeah, that didn't work. I'll play with it a bit more. I bought my IAC from one of these type of sites, and I know it is a total pain in the arse finding crap on them. I also found 22698-54C00, but I gathered that is the UK part number.
