Deja Vu. There's a new recall for the driveshaft. This driveshaft is a different part number than the previous driveshaft recall. You should be getting letters soon.

Greetings, thanks for the info. It's very strange... Why do they need to change a driveshaft that has already been replaced ??? I hope this recall will reach Europe. Cheers

The Altima hood latches went through 3 bulletins before they got them right, the Bosch navis went through 4, and a couple of ABS models went through 2~3. Keep in mind that Nissan/Infiniti, like most OEM's, doesn't "make" cars, they assemble them. Virtually everything in the car is produced by a subcontractor, and that means when a part has a problem, N/I is usually dependent on the subcontractor's engineers to resolve it. When a N/I design has a problem, it's still often up to a subcontractor to come up with a fix or workaround. Engineers don't always get it right on the first try.

For the UK folk - I didn't receive a letter but check via the DVLA page for recalls by entering your reg number. Mines booked in for towards the end of September.

And for the french folks : I call Infiniti consumer service and they confirm that this recall is also apply in France. So I call my Infiniti shop and they confirm too. They ordered the parts and will let me know when they receive it. FYI I didn't received any letter for this recall (no letter for last recall neither...).

PS @VStar650CL : you're right the propeller shaft is made by Hitachi ;)

Looks like it doesn't impact the AWD models which is good. These things are tanks :).

Hi, This was completed today. Took an extra day as they had accidentally ordered some parts for a Q50 instead! All sorted though.

They also picked up various other things needing attention but the only extra I went for were the front brake discs and pads (I had quite a severe vibration when braking from about 50mph).

Worryingly the exhaust back boxes have rotten through. The dealer wanted about £2.5k(!!) for a new exhaust so now my hunt starts for somewhere that can fabricate a system in north London...
