I'm looking at small cars to buy within the next year, and I'm not sure what to look at, but the Versa is one of my favorites I've seen so far. I'm wondering if a Versa is good for a first car. I just turned sixteen, and my parents are looking to buy a fairly cheap, small, good milaged car, and the Versa fits those catagories. Opinions?

The Versa would be an excellent choice for many reasons: Inexpensive (compared to many other cars), Very easy to drive and park, really good gas mileage, and plenty of space for friends & stuff. Now here's the best part...because of Versa's many safety features and it's great crash-test ratings, it's a relatively inexpensive car to insure. That will be a HUGE plus for you and your parents to consider.

I don't know if it's just me, but I rarely see people of Asian descent driving Nissans. 95% of the time, it's Hondas. Is there a reason for that?

EV, you trying to play matchmaker? (Casey is a woman's name, right?). Nissans seem to be one of the most popular cars for all ethnic categories around here, except Indians. Indians drive beige Toyotas.

I'm 17 and I love my V. Love the mileage too since I pay for gas.

I think Versa is a good car for new drivers. It's inexpensive to own and operate, easy to drive and not too powerful to get you into trouble. Especially that last one.

It's actually an androgynous name... could be either.

I was just pointing out that our dear mod is 16.
