new dome light and door magnetic switch?

Hi all, I have a question, Has anyone on here had to replace their middle dome light? (the whole assembly not just the bulb) and has anyone ever heard of a door magnetic switch, according to one nissan dealer I went to, there is a part inside the door that is part of the security system that can be damaged and cause alarm problems, which is what we have had problems with. any suggestions?

I have had to put a dome light in, because it was missing when I bought the car used. Why do you ask?

Ours was fine when we bought it back in november but lately, it flickers really bad to the point where we turned it off and upon inspection by a local dealer, i was told that there was a short in it and it would be better to replace the whole thing
