Who says its a replacement? Was the new Thunderbird a replacement for the old one? Was the new Z a replacement? No. It's a continuation of the model line...it's just been a while. Dodge is not trying to show up their own car. Why would they do that? The Charger is one of the cars that people think of first when they hear the word "Dodge"--well, that and those balls from P.E. in elementary school. Dodge is using the new name to help tie the new car in as a muscle car (which it most definitely is). Look at MOPAR history and you'll see tons of this. Dodge will resurrect names and let them die, then bring them back...if the name has a good rep, they'll use it to market a car. But I'll tell you right now, the new Charger is closer to the original that the new Mustang is to its original.Wraith wrote:Gonna be the odd ball, and say that design should of found its way to the waste basket instead of the production lines. I personally love the old "Dukes of Hazard" style charger and there just wont be a replacement for it.
New Ford Pony > New Dodge Charger (body style only)
wha...?fiznat wrote:eh and it'll probably be close to or over 30 grand with the hemi in it, just like the magnum. I'm sick of being dissapointed by Detroit, even the new vette looks like a freakin mazda from the front. I realse the company relation but COME ON, its a freakin corvette!
My sentiments exactly.rico05 wrote:SWEET! Wait you have it all wrong. Harley Davidson has had the spot for many years now. Dodge is just sharing it, tapping in to a different market (guys without the mullets). Surprisingly though, these big V8 cars don't get bad gasmilage, mid to lower 20's usually. My explorer gets 20 every tank and my bike gets in the mid 30's (used to be up around 50, but I ride harder now )rico05 wrote:SWEET!
