I own '06 Altima 2.5S and am wondering if there are any plans for a new "redesign" of the car for any upcoming model years.

I know that the '07 came out with the CVT transmission but the body hasn't changed much.

Would anyone know about the upcoming model years ('09/10/11, etc). Anything really going to change then a person could look at getting a new car that actually looks different from it's past year models.

The 2012 sedan models will have 1 giant door... and speed holes.

Specific models are almost always refreshed with the basic styling intact... That's how you tell it is an x and not a y. Look at every version of the 911. They all have the same basic shape. That's how you know it's a 911 and not a Boxster. If you want a complete visual redesign, look at a different model.

Dude, the 07s were the redesign. They do look different enough to tell which is new which is old. So um, no redesign in the future, til like.. 2012... go cop a new 09 Altima Coupe. or go get the rip off kings' kia forte' and Hyundai genesis. sorry if it sounded smart-alex of me. lol but were on the 'redesign'Edit.. if u were waiting for the whole sha bang.. were its done like the maxima.. wait for the altima to become less popular. or "fall off"

I heard at one point (possibly from a dealer while shopping for the coupe) that car companies generally redesign their models every 5 years, so 2012 sounds about right for the sedan.
