I wish this thing would just stop driving me nutz. Ok First long drive in the CA since rebuild, went about 40miles all readings great, car feels smooth and strong, breaking it in, running only 5psi of boost. Oil pressure stable at 65-75psi cruzing, oil temp 225 degrees, everything looks peachy. I was on the highway and I slow to a stop after exiting, I hear loud lifter chatter. I looked for a oil leaks i did spring a leak, checked the oil was a little low added a half quart, let it cool down since i was at my destination, turned it back on, noise went away. 40miles return, Noise came back as i slowed off the highway, i was st my return destination and was 2am, so i just parked it jumped in my jeep and went home. Next day check oil level seems to be ok, and noise was not pronounced.

What would cause that noise. sounds like a lifter but only on long duration. Is one possibly bad?

225°F for the oil is pretty hot. You might consider an oil cooler.

It could be that you've got a bad lifter.

Mind the injectors as well. I've heard some get pretty loud and had me in a daze. Just make sure the oil levels are up to par and stop all the leaks. If you've already put 400 miles on your rebuild, consider it broken in, although long trips are not ideal for breaking-in an engine. Engine braking helps with seating the rings as this the method I use when driving for an extended period on a new rebuild (Works for me).

on another note someone tried to break into my car tonight and my friends at work caught them in the act so no damage, cops were called report filed, and I was pissed cop advised i move the car tonight for safety and I put the battery in backwards i was pissed, and i caught it but not b4 it sparked, i didn't even crank it was no more then 40seconds, but car won't start i jumped the blown fuse, but i dont hear my fuel pump... car cranks but wont turn over and ideas? i check the fuses in the engine bay they all good but the one i jumped. Arg I never have any luck with this.

Have to check every fuse and start from the basics. All the relays should be ok at least. The ECU will have probably cooked something inside though.

I read about another fella who had a dead flat battery, and he managed to 'reverse charge' it. So he reinstalled the battery in the right way, but the negative became the positive... Kinda got the same affect you have.

As was previously stated, most likely the ECU. It MIGHT be possible to repair it, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
