me and my friend swapped the dash from my old 240 to my new one. I have a pretty interior now.

the job turned out to be easier than I though. all it took was a lot of pulling and pushing.

if you've ever wanted to see a 240 with no dash, here you go.

here are some pics of my new 240.

if you get pulled over, and get questioned about it, the VIN is also placed in the engine bay, on the passenger side against the wall (ner where windsheild meets the hood) and i believe i read the vin tag on the dash is removable..

nope, you have to have the one on the dash. poretty sure you need two, the one on the firewall and the one on the dash, the rest arent necessary.

I just drilled out the rivets, pulled it off, put the vin plate on the new dash and riveted it back in

Now all you have to do is take off the door panels and swap them over to get power doors :D

I'm gonna do this some time in either June or July...i'll try to take pics to do a writeup

For those of you who use armorall, keep in mind that while it looks pimpin, if you use it for an extended period then stop, it'll completely **** up your nice looking dash! Speaking from experience here. (Not on the 240 though, gotta keep it pimped up)

yeah, im black s13 or black_s13 on pretty much all the sites...

just be careful with the vin, you need to remove it, and get it back in without it looking like its even been touched. mines in there REALLY poorly, and 4 cops have stared at it (as is writing down the vin off it) and they havent noticed. maybe cops are just stupid.

there are 3 bolts under the defroster vents. 2 next to the screws for the gauge cluster (which needs to come out anyway). 4 along the bottom of the dash.

take stereo bracket out, unscrew climate control box, drop steering wheel. a bit of pulling and cursing and it pops right out.

as for the vin plate, just drill it out with a drill bit. don't drill into your hand though. and don't bend the plate.

isn't the meguiars purple stuff to shine tires? I use the meguiars dashboard cleaning foam. Makes it really shiny and smells good too. Works better than armorall from personal experience and is more easily controllable than the spray stuff since it's a foam. might wanna give it a try to compare for yourself.

Arorall is petrolium based so it deteriorates the dash and other plastics... best left on the tires only cause by the time you see the effects of the damage on your tires you are replcing them anyways...

On the dash use a product that sun screen like son of a gun of other stuff... there are lots out there just read the lable looking for UV protection... they advertise this fact because most people know Armorall will jack your dash in the long run.

well, if that is a fact, I like how the amorall bottle says it's made to protect vinyl and plastics from uv rays.

we'll have to run a test on this.

Don't get the wrong idea, armorall does protect against UV rays and everything. But once you stop using it, it's like your dash ages 10 times as fast, it'll start peeling and get major discolorations in sunlight. I don't recommend it really.
