I've been shopping for a more practical daily drive for a while...since my CA-powered, gutted coupe riding on Tein HE's isn't very comfortable or reliable for daily driving. This became even more apparent this past week, when a breather hose blew off the valve cover, and it blew about a quart of oil into the engine bay in a timeframe of about 15 mins @ stock boost, due to my horrible blow-by (failing piston rings, most likely on 3 and 4).
Anyways, I picked up my new toy on friday: a "salsa" '00 Frontier Desert Runner SE extended cab, auto V6. Here's a couple pics off the dealer's website:
It has 68k on the odometer, all the mechanicals are in excellent shape, and aside from some minor scratches and dings, has a very clean body/interior. I picked it up for $10,160 base.....$12k drive-out w/ 2yr/24k bumper-to-bumper warranty. I like to think I got a decent deal. I would've rather had the s/c model....but I'm pressed for time, and this one was easy to find.I looked at Tacomas, S10 ZR2's, Ranger Edges, etc...and finally decided to stick with Nissan. Anyone have any good/bad experiences with Frontiers?
