I just bought a custom turbo kit from a friend and this is what it included: garret t70 turbo, custom equal length manifold, FMIC w/piping, greddy BOV, tial wastegate, down pipe, cobra mass air flow, custom air intake w/hks filter, grreddy 720cc injectors w/custom fuel rail, and JWT ECU. At 11lbs he put down 315whp and at 14lbs he put down 348whp. The cost of the kit was $2800. Do you guy's think it was a good buy?

Yea. If anything, I'd get a smaller turbo. A t67 (or 66?) is the largest turbo I've heard of on a KA, and t3/4 hybrids have powered nearly every 400+ horsepower KA. The benefits of getting a smaller turbo is less lag, shifting the powerband to useable midrange. And as we all know.. the car with the most area under the hp curve wins the race.-Jeff

I rhode in the car befor it came out and it was the first time I was in a high horse power turboed car. I currently have a direct-port nitrious kit and am familure with instant power. Im not too familure with turbo lag but if there was any it wasn't noticable.

Umm.. no it doesn't. The cobra maf was on Jay's 412rwhp s14, Chris's 438rwhp s14, CIPmotorsports's 400+rwhp s14, with no show in maxing anywhere. As far as I know, nobody has ever "maxed" a cobra maf.-Jeff

thanks for the reply's. I don't know but maybe it is different on a KA, there are mustang cobra's out there making more HP with out changing the mafs. so if programed properly why wouldn't it work?

The cobra maf will max out at 350 unless you are using a subtractor circuit form JWT. This reduces the voltage reading in the ecu which allows it to be used for up to 550 hp.The cobra ecu is supposed to be a little more accurate in its readings--but I have never heard or seen anything to back that up. The t70--I wonder what kind of power band that has?Since the ka revs to about 7200 on a JWT ecu---would it be even worth it to use one like that? What kind of turbine housing is on it? turbine trim? Does anyone know anything about this turbo?

i want to see pics of the kit or what it looked like on your friend's car!T70 on a ka24de sounds fun. I bet its a tire smoker. If i were you, plan on building your motor so you can take advantage of that turbo at higher boost levels.

hang around the rotary forums. If you want to go smaller (t60, t66) I bet you can do a straight trade + gain some money while at it. This guys run t-66's as the standard and are always looking for bigger turbos.

I dont even know the specs on the t-70. I think its one of those ssautochrome kits, or something like it.

I have freinds looking at the t-70 for thier integras. Id like to see what kind of turbine specs it has.

t-70 in integras....you serious?

I mean, I know it'll run, but that's track only.

I don't know the specs on the turbo. All I know is that the front housing is a t70 and the back housing is a t3. As far as trim goes I dont know.
