ok, so i was browsing stillen and i foucd this for my '99 I30:

How much work will this require to install, and is it really worth the $$.

i saw a write up somewhere...but can't remember where. it's pretty simple though - loosen the belts, take the old one off and put new one on. i'm looking into one too sometime soon but i think i'll go with ebay's obx - same thing and supposed to be balanced but a lot cheaper. as for if they're worth it? yes, smaller and lighter means it turns all the utilities easier and faster.

and i know a lot of you will say that ebay sells a lot of crap but i've been lucky so far and i'll check for balance myself when i get it to be sure.

How do you check the balance? I also wondered about those pulleys (OBX)

i thought about 2 ways:-tire shop and their balancer -machine shop

what about if you tried to balance it on somthing like a pencil but bigger would that work. If it sat on there like a plate on the tip of your finger nice and even its balanced?
