hey guys. the dealership told me i'm in need of a new clutch. they said that the flywheel has to be replaced as well in 350z's at the same time and the quote was 2800 cdn. just curious if there trying to scam me on the flywheel thing but if there not i may as well get a lightweight flywheel if thats the case any suggestions?

58 000 miles. my driving habits are mild. i only drive it when it's sunny but god only knows what the guy before me drove like. i talked to another guy at the dealership and he said i diden't HAVE to replace the flywheel but he highly recomended i should. he said i could prolly get the nismo clutch and flywheel. i haven't got the price quote on that yet.

JWT also makes a flywheel clutch combo, seems a lot of people buy it. I don't know about having to full replace the flywheel but they can resurface it, which isn't free so you could just buy a new one. ACT has good clutches for less than the competition. I would say $2800 is a **** ton. It should be about $800 - $1000 for the clutch and flywheel, they shouldn't be charging you $1800 to install it..... ask them if you get a reach around with that @$$ raping!

Find another reputable, trustworthy shop and get it checked out. Research the internet. The 350Zs are having a ton of clutch and transmission problems. My dealer is currently also trying to rape me of $$$ you are talking about - a shop I've known a long time and trusted much more than a dealer says I don't need a full clutch and flywheel replacement and has quoted me much less. There are too many 350Zs with clutches and transmissions going out around 20k miles, with Nissan telling them they need a full replacement and not covering it under warranty. Get a second (or third) opinion.
