new clutch slipping

Okay so I just put a new spec stage 1 clutch in my car and it it slipping at about 2500-3000 rpm in the higher gears. I have bled the clutch and tried to adjust the clutch pedal but when I adjust it so that it has a little free play it will not go into gear while jlits running. So I adjusted it back out with no free play and it will go into gear just fine but it slips and the engagement point is like an inch off or less off the floor. Does anyone have any idea what I could've done wrong or what?

Also I bought a new throw out bearing but never put it in because the one that was on it looked fine

Try adjusting the pedal again, just make smaller adjustments like 1.5 turns then test. I think you may just need to use a finer adjustment to get in between the 2 conditions - slipping at one end and can't put it in gear when engine on at the other.
