don't ask how, but i managed to blow my clutch and obviously when something is wrong with my car, it is not warantable, nissan wants to charge me $1,850 for a new clutch, i threw up when i heard that (not literally), i was wondering if anyone would know how much it would cost to get it fixed outside of nissan.

Thanks for any help

Wow, thats ridiculous. Go to your own mechanic, get the flywheel resurfaced, and a Nissan OEM clutch. I'm sure it'll be a hell of a lot cheaper then Nissan mechanic.

What is there reasoning for not covering it under warranty?

they say that it burnt due to abuse, but only experienced manual drivers have driven my car, there is only 3000 miles on it so it isnt physically possible that that is the reasoning, but nevertheless that is what they are saying and my parents dont want to take this to court, but i need to pay for it, so i just need to know what a good deal is, or if there is anyway to make them pay for it.

Thanks, Sam

You need to take this up the chain of command at Nissan! Even if you beat the hell out of the car, the clutch wouldn't give out at 3000 miles...

Call Nissan North America 1-800-NISSAN1 and be persistant until they tranfer your case to a regional specialist. I am not sure what comes after that but call everyday and bug them. Do not pay for this yet.

I agree. This is definitely not right. You would REALLY have to try hard to cause your clutch to ****e the bed. How bad is it?

I had the same problem with my eclipse. My clutch went out in 1800 miles and they said is was from abuse. However my dad took it to a specialist and they said there was no way I could have done that in so little time. I had to pay 2600 for them to replace it but I got the clutch and took them to court. Needless to say I got more then my money back because they said I couldnt drive which p***ed me off. Which reaslly the problem was the clutch was installed wrong. Some companies try to say a clutch wont be covered because it is a wear product(like itres). But I would fight it like crazy. I know court isnt always the answer but if thats what it takes to make things right then thats what has to be done.
