im about to cry... just got my new 6 puck xtd clutch put in 170+ mmiles ago... pulling onto the highway today i got forced to get on the gas pretty hard. since then the clutch is letting out extremely late. i noticed a slight slippage only once today after that but im not gonna mess with it again to see it keep slipping. anyone have any ideas to solve the problem? but i think i just f'ed myself considering i dont have the tools yet for a clutch install and i have to pay for labor

you can adjust the release/engage point and clutch travel using the master cylinder pushrod and cruise control switch, respectively. This as should definetly be done after every new clutch install. cl 4 in s14 fsm not sure if thats you but should be cl atleast

It's normal to adjust especially with an aftermarket clutch.

since you say your getting on the gas with a new clutch at only 170 miles on it.....you better take it easy for the next 500 miles then to wear off some of the glazing, getting on the gas with a clutch like the xtd requires a 500 mile breakin...if you wonder what glazing is...its what happens when you put alot of slip on a disk that isnt seated all the way OR broken in yet and hasnt quite seated and worn into place, the friction material just kind of melts, becomes wavy and never grips right at first....take it easy on that 6-puck because it doesnt have as much friction area as a full faced disk, once a 6-puch with an agressive ceramic/metallic compound becomes broken in then you can take advantage of its gripping power.....so just take it easy fro the next 500 miles and break it in.......as for it comming up late, the further you adjust it towards the front of the car(the rod) the more soon it will become disengaged when you push in the pedal...try 3 turns at a time and try moving the car and adjust as to where you feel you like it and comfortable with it.
