Well I bought my first 240 a dew days ago. It needed a new clutch. I ordered a new own clutch and started installing it this morning. Most things went without a hitch except for the top trans bolt which is a pinta. Clutch went in smoothly and everything seemed fine. But once I started to drive it this afternoo. I noticed a slight slip if I went over 2.5-3.5k rpms. Is this normal and will it go away or should I adjust the clutch? If I do have to adjust it then how do I go about doing that? Thanks and I did search. Just couldn't find exactly what I needed. Thank nico

generaly when you put a new clutch in it takes a good few hundred miles to break in. uhm most people wouldnt sugest it but just drop it from like 3 or 4 grand and see if it helps a little. what kind of clutch is it exactly?

try and keep it below 3k rpm for about 500-700 mile to break it in...

also, did you torque the flywheel to 105 and the pressure plate to 22?

Yes I torqued it all to spec. I was told that the glaze on the clutch will wear off in a few hundred miles. Should I expect this?

Yeah man, your good. Just take it easy for about 500 miles....Did you spray it all down with brake cleaner before installing the trans, or get grease on the clutch?

Sadly I spaced spraying the disc with brake cleaner. However I used a little grease to get the pilot bearing on and make it pain free as possible. So I'm thinking I may have gotten a little on the disc. But for good news. The clutch has stopped slipping today after about 150 miles. It does slip a little everyonce in a while but it is not bad.

I will admit, I have done that before. Hopefully you didnt get the grease on the disk, or your screwed.

After bleeding the clutch about 5 times in the past few days, it has stopped slipping for about 60 miles since thats all i've driven it so far. I was able to get on it a little bit and it not slip so i can only hope its done doing what it was and all of the air is out of the lines
