Hey I'm looking for a new clutch for my ca18det, but as you all know parts are somewhat limited for the ca. I see a lot of stage clutches made by companies I am not familiar with for really good prices, but I'm really skeptical about their performance. Does anybody know of a good clutch kit? Mine blew up, so I need a new one ASAP. Thanks!

Lots of guys use spec clutches and love them. Seem to be fairly priced aswell, and lots of options for your power goals. Im using an Ogura and hate it, its the stiffest clutch I have ever driven in my life. A lot of guys use SR clutches as well to get more options, although minor mods will have to be made. If your serious about going SR theres plenty of info in the search bar I would bet. Good luck man, later.

I'm using a KA ACT 6 puck extreme pressure plate. A few of the holes needed to be enlarged and an alignment pin had to be pulled out. We'll see how it runs when I get the car going.

Buy a Cusco metal single, or copper single, and the heavy duty pressure plate and you will never have to buy another clutch again. I rock a metal single and its the f'in bomb.

This clutch is so money you can take it to the bank.

I should mention that Perfectrun is a good company. They ship quickly, considering they are in AU, and they don't charge you out the a$s for shipping. You just have to make sure you tell them its for an '89 KS13 with the CA18.

Those look so sketchy ^

How long have you had it, and how much hp does your car have?

Be sure to google "spec clutch" and "grenaded" before you buy one.

I've had a centerforce dual friction from a ca18et which bolt directly up.(Great for street) I've also heard that ACt has a real ca18det clutch now. I just pulled my buddies grenaded sprung spec clutch so I wouldn't recommend it. But now my all time favorite is my OS Giken twin plate especially for drifting. Really depends on what you want to do with it.

Hey turbos12 I was looking at those XTDs but they did look kind of sketchy...what do you do with your car? I'm using mine for street, but I will be doing some drifting competitions too. I pushing some power, so you think it's going to hold to about 350hp? What are you pushing?

Iv had it for over 2000miles never slipped once..and they have a 10,000 mine warrenty (so they say)..my motor is pretty much stock..3inch exhuast fmic..and turned up the boost a lil..no sign of it to start slipping anytime soon..I'm not sure if it will slip at 350hp..google it and see how much hp people have made on them..170$ for a 6puck ceramic clutch ya can't go wrong lol..the pp is a lil heavier then stock also..so it has a nice feel on the pedal

You guys see that link I posted? That should end any "clutch" thread.

I have personally ABUSED that three puck metal clutch for over 40,000 miles. Thats 40,000 miles of donuts, 7000rpm dumps, powerslides, and all other types of ill sh1t.

My new stock clutch would slip under acceleration, so I got the metal one. Never once has it slipped. Why spend $170 on some trash when you could spend $450 and never have to worry about buying a clutch again?

Good find, hopefully that thread puts to rest any questions of that swap.

DALAZ_68- hmmm thanks for the article bro, it really gave me an insight on more options, plus let me know of some of the things to watch for in the swap period..

r34 gtr- I checked that clutch and clutch cover you were talking about (didn't see a cusco pressure plate on there) and it seems like the best choice. I'm gonna beat the hell out of the clutch so I need something that will hold up...sounds like a good choice. Don't want to have to replace a cheapo and spend the same amount as the good one. Am I going to need to get a throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and adjustment tool...or does that Cusco come with any of that?

I would assume you would need to buy them separately. The pressure plate is listed as "clutch cover" on the site.

so, it would be:

00C 022 R220 and 00C 022 B006 for the copper disc and the pressure plate, or

00C 022 C202N and 00C 022 B006 for the metal disc and pressure plate.

Should be around $400 all said and done.

I have the same clutch and can vouch for its earth-shattering strength. After 9,000 kms of abuse, im still happy. I posted pics of it up on here once.

Uuuuh, I mean, for LA traffic I would probably ride a bike. Mine puts my left foot to sleep after about 30 minutes of stop and go. I would estimate the pedal effort is about 70lbs. I am using a Nismo uber heavy duty pressure plate though.

alright r34, I ordered the Cusco Single Metal Plate clutch and cover. I'm pretty stoked to run it, and I'll tell you guys how it goes. I have high hopes, I'm gonna beat the hell out of that clutch!
