Hey, I have a 98 240sx and I just replaced the stock flywheel with a fidanza light weight flywheel also I replaced the stock clutch with a ACT Clutch Xtreme kit. it came with the pilot bearing, throw out bearing and alignment tool. When I was putting it together I noticed that the throw out bearing was a bit different but it fit. The model number for that bearing is RB016. I made sure that the spinning part of the bearing sits on the pressure plate. now that everything is done and bolted back up, whenever I start the car it sounds like the engine starts to quick and the starter motor is still engaged. THis is only for alittle bit. I was told that the starter motor might have to be aligned correctly. Also I still have the stock slop in the clutch pedal. I hate that feeling. Anyone have any ideas on why this is happening? Did I do something wrong? Thanks in advance.

1. Bleed the clutch hydraulics if the pedal is soft2. Adjust the master cylinder <--> clutch pedal point if the clutch engages too low/high.

Recheck your starter... the noise is the starter grinding the flywheel more than likely.

You can adjust a clutch both ways... so if it slips then re-adjust it back.

you could remove the clutch damper box and switch to SS braided lines here's a link i'm happy with my clutch line. http://www.takamotorsports.com...ISSAN

is this a hard procedure removing the clutch damper box? How would I do this? Thanks for the link.

it's 2 bolts 2 flare nut fittings and 10 mintues of your time, here's another link brah. http://sr20.hybrids.jp/install....html

i don't suggest bending the hard metal line, just spend the extra $5 for the loop/dampener removal SS line from Taka Motorsports

you mentioned the t/o bearing was slightly different! could it be the kit is for a different model/engine configuration? possibly the flywheel is very slightly larger or smaller in diameter at the ring gear causeing the starter to hang up or slip on the teeth of the ring gear?

well I bought a fidanza flywheel from horsepowerfreaks.com so it was made for my car. No one else had this problem when installing the fidanze flywheel. The clutch kit is a ACT kit for the 240sx 98.

I took out the starter and looked at the gear and found no marks on it. I never put any grease on the gears would this matter at all?
