ok i am gunna list my problems and i want people to help me fix them

Trunk wont open when i pull leverHood wont latch down ( i cant tell if it will open since it wont latch)speedo dosent workfuel gauge dosent work(car has aftermarket)car wont start ne more (died while driving, might of ran out of gas since gauge dosent work )

some problems i am gunna fix my self are

speaker wire to fog lights ( )most vacuum lines missingsome vacuum lines have a bolt going into them to block them offwindow on d side dont go downmisc wires from removed gaugesloose radio

here are some problems that are fixxable with parts you guys offer me !!!

headlight housing melted from loose bulb (the speaker wire leads from here to the foglights !!!)radio trim is brokendoor trim is missingpass trim for closing door is broken

thats from the main page but i am also gunna add some rb knowledge on my peoplez

the rb is currntly waiting on tomei valve springs to get here then its going to prozamcam for the rebuild, during that time its getting rebuilt i will install all my gauges, fuel pump, intercooler, and start to figure out the amazingly complicated haltech. once engine is rebuilt, i am gunna drive s14 to a big garage to rip out the KA, and install the rb (minus wiring, and manifolds, basically just get it in chassis so i can get it back to my house and install the xtras that are small there well any input !!! basically i need to fix that list of problems before rb is rebuilt so i can rip out old motor !!!

the hatch on my s13 wouldnt open with the lever, only the key. upon further inspection, the release cable had broken right at the latch. might check that out.

there is a switch at the latch on S14s where the cable goes to the release in the trunk that makes it so you cannot open the trunk from the inside.

Found that out after a year or so.

on the trunk, look just under the latch and youll see a metal lever/switch. its a valet switch for the trunk, it makes it so its only able to be opened with the key and not from the lever next to the seat. i forgot how it should be, but you should figure it out.speedo doesnt work... do you mean it wont turn on? or it just reads 0? if the latter make sure the speed sensor is plugged into the right spot on the trans.what do you mean the fuel gauge doesnt work(car has aftermarket) aftermarket what? fuel gauge? fuel cell? float? make sure everything is plugged up back there.

LOL if the problem doesnt directly relate to the rb engine/drivetrain it doesnt go in the RB forum

1. get a new cable or buy one from someone parting out.

2. check to see if you got any other crap/fail keeping your hood from closing (duh). check over the latch assembly at the front near the radiator.

3. check the wiring from the speedo (last sensor on the transmission) up to the ecu. continuity? wired up properly? you're doin a swap so probably a wiring issue

4. yeah check over the wiring again to your cluster. if you're swapping stuff around, chances are you've butchered parts of the harness and need to double check your wiring. Wiring is always a pita to deal with especially when you're doing a swap that involves butchering the harness, aka you'll usually be sol and gotta check over your work yourself. Other thing, did you check to see if there was fuel in the first place?

5. yeah fill up your tank and report back.

6. speaker wire to fog lights? wtf is this about?

7. it happens when you swap. remember to use new hoses instead of reusing those old ratty old hoses. a couple bucks won't hurt when you're spending a couple grand on a swap will it?

8. get vac plugs to plug up vac lines that will go unused.

9. pull the door panel and have a gander at what may be broken. lots of old plastic parts that could have gotten brittle and screwed you in the A.

10. this could be the cause for your speedo and fuel gauge not working now couldn't it?

11. get some manly headlight enclosures if you've an s13 with flip ups. The Bosch ones have never done me wrong and I've had them for years.

12. radio trim is broken? well again look in the parts section and look for someone parting. Might have luck with posting a wtb instead of trying to fish for one here.

13/14. post in the wtb.

hehe the speaker wiring to fog lights was original owners doing, i was just amazed that in this day and age people would so something like that, but i am leaning on fuel pump and filter on starting issue tho...

My trunk(coupe) started acting up and wouldn't open when I pulled the latch inside and it turns out that the bolts holding the latch to the trunk wall were loose. All I had to do to fix it was tighten the bolts.

-open trunk with key flip metal switch opposite way.(If key doesn't work, fold down rear seat to access)-Turn rubber bumper stoppers clockwise to lower, counter to raise hood. This will effect hood closing, main latch can be adjusted up/down as well.

Sounds like someone messed up the cluster upon installing the color changing cluster. I'd remove cluster and check connections are tight and ditch the color cover.

Check out s14_sport in for sale section Excellent seller and ships parts.
