Chances are you didn't hook up the amp turn on for the speakers. Just incase you didn't know 240's came with "ACTIVE" speakers meaning they are amped therefore, needing the amp turn on to be connected to get sound.

oh.. this really helped. i think im gonna rewire everythign..

can you give me a hand with them?

here's the wiregram... without the speaker part.. i got them connected right i think.. just to the right coloers righht?

for the sony stereo ..

1. black (ground)

2. blue (power antenna control lead or power supply lead of antenna booster amplifier - ANT REM)

3. blue/white striped (to AMP Remote of an optional power amplifier - AMP REM)

4. light blue (to the inter face cable of a car telephone - ATT)

5. orange/white striped (illumination)

6. red (to the +12 v power "ignition")

7. Yellow ( to the +12v powe terminal which is energized at all times)

the Metra hardness i bought from pepboy..

1. red ( 12 v ignition)

2. yellow ( 12 volt batt/memory)

3. black (ground)

4. blue (powe antenna)

5. blue / white striped (amp turn-on)

6. black /white striped ( amp ground)

7. orange ( illumination)

8. dimmer ( orange/white)

ok.. that would be it.. here are some more questions..do i need to connect the stereo ground(black) to the hardness.. then connect them to the car chassis?

what is the dimmer thing from the hardness.. i dont see a dimmer wire from my stereo.

thanks alot

What sort of noise is coming through, like staticy, distortion, or maybe a whining sound? Fill us in with the type of noise and I should be able to give you an answer on what might be causing it.

Was the information from Silvia007 true?

"Chances are you didn't hook up the amp turn on for the speakers. Just incase you didn't know 240's came with "ACTIVE" speakers meaning they are amped therefore, needing the amp turn on to be connected to get sound."

I have the same problem with my Alpine Headunit. But I have an S13 Hatch. 240's came with amped speakers even with an S13 with aftermarket speakers?
