new CAT or test pipe?

my CAT is going bad and i dont want to put an O.E. one in my car. right now i have headers and a y pipe and a gredy evoII CAT back exhaust. has anyone put a test pipe in their max? where can i get a test pipe from. thanks for all the help!

you can get one off ebay or a muffler shop - it's just a straight through pipe. if you get tested for emissions you'll fail though and in most states test pipes are not street legal.

I live in PA also and have a test pipe that I got off ebay. With it on my check enging light does not come on so it will pass the code tests for inspection and depending on where u take your car it may pass the visual part. I was able to get my car to pass.
