New Car

new to the nissan family, just bought an 08 silver altima coupe 3.5 fully loaded 6 speed. from what i have read you guys love this car and hopefully in 6-8 weeks i will be loving it as well (its going to be a very long 6-8 weeks)

anyway i dont like the grill on the coupe does anyone know of mesh one not too expensive? im also looking to tint the windows to around 35% - i live in ny and for some reason they go out of their way to pull people over with tint, is it even worth it to go with aftermarket tint?

welcome aboard mate. as far as tint if you're worried about getting tickets and your car already has tint from the factory i would say leave it and save yourself money on new tint and tickets. waste your money on good stuff like intake, exhaust, tune, wheels/tires, sound system, turbo (whoops, did i say turbo?) etc. tint is a must, but having a car that's gets pulled over constantly isn't all that fun.

Did you order your car from the factory and they said 6-8 weeks?

although you probably test drove the A/C 3.5 before you bought it, I imagine they didn;t let you DRIVE it. After the break in period, the 3.5 is a da*n fun car to drive. 08altima35 is getting his turbo'ed, and I'm sure that is gonna be just plain rediculous to drive. The 3.5 has ok speed from the line, but the magic happens when you're already going about 15-20 MPH and you hit the gas... this thing is just a blast and I have the CVT so you'll love the manual that much more...

you definately made the right decision getting this car, just try not to get bitten by the mod bug.. it leaves a nasty bite and its VERy hard to get rid of (as you can see from my signature )

yea i ordered it from the factory because they didnt have any i wanted in the area around here it was the same price either way so i said might as well get a brand new one that no one test drove or anything

yea i like ur car man just no where close to having the money to pay for all that im really just looking for minor changes and maybe some changes to the engine when more come about

how do the smoked tail lights look on the silver? cuz thats what im looking to do new mesh grill top n bottom, smoked tail lights and 35% tint ... hopin all that wont cost too much

roughly when did you order yours? the estimate they gave me was 10-12 weeks which thats what im planning for, wouldn't mind if it came in a couple weeks before that though

sorry it took so long to reply been so busy lately .... i ordered mine March 30 they said they would call me when they know a closer date ... so im hoping it comes at the beginning of june .... start the summer off right what kinda car u order?

Welcome to NICO You'll find a plethora of knowledge here and a lot of things that you can do to "mod" your coupe. But beware, like Doc said, once you get bitten by the "mod" bug, it's hard to get rid of.

Yeah I went in at the same time pretty much which puts me at the early to mid-june. I ordered an '08 Coupe SE Dark Slate 6mt, no packages or anything.

My lil brother got mine tinted in in RI. NY has a 75% tint for the driver and passenger, but had them done at 50% and 20% rears. So far, no problems.

Wow 5% must be crazy dark. :p

Here is PA the law is 70%. Do you think you can post a pic of the 50%, I was considering going as low as 35% but I'd like to avoid as much possible headache as I can

yea im figuring the first week of june ill be getting it ... i really cant wait i just wanna drive man im going from a beat up 91 accord to a 03 santa fe to this it like blows both of them away

as for the tint im prob gonna do 35%-40% but who knows need the car first
