The engine is a KA24DETyger wrote:This has probably been answered before, but I am new here and would not know where to look. I am thinking of buying a 1998 Nissan 240sx off a buddy for 2 G's. The body is very clean, the interior needs some TLC and the motor is shot. I am looking to do a motor swap but have no clue as to what motor is in this car. I know it is a twin cam, 16 valve. I'm looking to price these out to see if this car is worth buying. Also, if any members have any thoughts on this car, give me a shout as well if you think it is worth it or not. Thanks.

Nope. I was just looking to see how much a motor costs as Nissans are new to me and found this great forum. But thanks for the reinforcement, bro...sean8564 wrote:ether this is a load of BS or some one just wants to brag in deals BUY IT NOW

How much HP does this motor put out? Also, does it have the potential to hold a turbo if I change my mind in the future?Nismo_Freak wrote:You should be able to locate an SR20DE engine for around $650 or so with gearbox. Wiring is slightly easier, and you can use alot of the cheap upgrades (like an OEM SR20DET clutch) to keep the budget down.
You also would have a very nice weight savings compared to the KA.
