i finally picked up a local 240! these these cars are so freakin hard to find thanks to the whole J spec fad. my friend spoted this one in west hartford wed morning, and by 3pm it was sittin in my driveway. first the good...the body is in good condition, and its the color i wanted...the motor runs strong with no leaks even at 171000.its getting pulled and rebuilt for boosting fun.now for the bad, its auto, but ill be changing that soonand the ugly, this is the worst spot of rust on the whole car. gonna have to do some welding to fix it.

not a bad car at all. pull up the rear spoiler though, you may have more rust.

yeah, the rear quarter is where the worst rust is. theres a little inder the lid, and some under the hood, but nothing thats not repairable.

Well, this one has a little bit of a checkered past haha but we'll work through it. lol the guy who sold the car actually went in the engine bay and spray painted clear coat (!) on just about everything to make it look shiny haha. The engine is making a few questionable noises and the chassis rust is on the verge of bieng a serious problem but we can handle it-- my car wants a twin!!

Mine and Will's (mine is dirty I know, and I need wheels, and to lower it, and and and yea I know... look at that brake dust all over my front wheels! )

a shaddy *** 2nd hand used car dealer! we stared at the engine bay for like ten minutes thinking, "something here is just not right...why is everything so damn shiny!!! even the freakin tape on the freakin shiny *** sensors is shiny!" then we saw the bubblin edges...aha, clearcote. waitin on some local parts to tackle projects one and two, the manual swap and welding new panels on the fender wells. next comes the egr removal and test pipe. with much, much more to follow... i feel a singularity devolping,...located entirely within my wallet!!

Nah, they even sell used car dealers an underhood clearcoat specifically to make everything look shiny and new.

You'll also find that many of them use a semi-gloss black spray paint to make tires look new.

I picked up my 92 SE coupe, in running condition with timing chain rattle, no rust, and everything (all pw, door locks, HUD, sunroof) in perfect working condition for $500. I paid over $1000 more 2 years ago for my base model hatch with a rod knock.
