Anyone ever get burning and watery eyes, burning nasal passages, and burning throat from that new car smell?

I've had my new 2013 wrx for about 2 weeks and today was the first day it was parked in 100 degree weather while I was at work. When I opened the door and began to sit in the drivers seat, my eyes became watery and started to burn. Also my nasal passages and a small area of my throat started to burn. I immediately got out of the car and the symptoms went a away a few minutes later. I ended up driving home with all the windows down to air out the fumes, which I guess are from the glues used from the factory. Not sure what the health affects are from that new car smell, but I need to find a way to get rid of it.

You are likely to be allergic to formaldehyde fumes ... used in manufacturing processes having to do with plastics and foam.

Same problem can happen with "memory foam" beds by the way. The formaldehyde used in the manufacturing of plastics and foam mattresses (including formica furniture glue) can be quite a serious health hazard for people who are sensitive to it.

We had to return a brand-new 2" memory foam mattress pad recently - bought it for my son and when I opened the plastic bag, the smell was pretty bad. The instructions said that it would "fade" in a few weeks, but we did not want to take the risk of exposing my son to it. He already has allergies that make it tough for him.
