Post

Hey NICO Club, nice to meet you guys.
I'm new to the forum but liking everyone's style a lot.
So I recently (a week ago) bought a 2012 A/C 2.5S and I think I'm ready to start working on it.

The thing is, I have pretty close to no experience physically working on cars even though I love cars, I've just never had the time or funds to start learning about it. But I've definitely got heart so please be patient with me!

My car is the base model 2.5S because I figured I'd just do the rest aftermarket. Color is super black with black interior.
So far, what I'm pretty sure I'm getting is 8000K HID's (I'm in California so I'm not too sure what would be the safest degree to get without getting myself in trouble), tints on the windows, eibach prokit, still looking at rims, and going for k&n air filter's and I'm not sure what kind of CAI would be best. And I also need some advice for rear spoilers. It's not even optional, my car needs one.

Well anyways, any kind of advice, criticism, and help in general would be really appreciated and awesome!
Thanks guys, hopefully I'll see you at a meetup someday

Welcome to Nico

First off id like to say that 8000k HID is a bit much.. Ive had em before on my 02 Pathfinder but wasnt too happy with the light output. With HID's you weigh out appearance (8000k+), or functionality (6000k and under) . Consider your car did not come Stock with the HID projectors, I would suggest talking to one of the Vendors - Dangeris - He runs a Retrofit deal (pricey but it looks damn well worth the work)

Secondly, All CAI for our cars isnt exactly a CAI due to the packed engine bay... Lot of guys have gone K&N, I have gone the Nismo CAI (stupid me found out it was a rebranded AEM kit) . If you plan on strut bars and all the other stuff, Avoid the "bigger box" intake systems... My Heat shield for my Intake somewhat impedes my Racingline Strut bar Still works though. Take a look at my build thread (in my sig) and enjoy! and once again, welcome to Nico.... BTW... Pics or it didnt happen.

Thanks for the input!
I've been reading some threads and your car was one I liked a lot specifically.
Hope you don't mind if I copy what you've done with your grille.
And yea I was going to post pictures but it was too dark outside tonight so I'll try to post them tomorrow if I can take some good pictures.

Actually 2010+ models DO come stock with HID projectors.

About the intakes, they aren't really any better for our car than stock. Its mostly just for the sound  I have the K&N and it sounds beast.

Spoilers. I would recommend the OEM spoiler. In my opinion, it fits the car and its lines perfectly.

Thanks!
And yea, I was considering going back to the dealership and have them order/install it but that would cost about $400 while an aftermarket one would be like $189. Like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/2007-2012-Nissan- ... 12+spoiler
Not too sure how the color would match and what the result would be.
Otherwise, yea. I was going for sound anyways, I really don't think I'm going to get much better performance with the budget I'm on. I'll save that for a project car.

Even the 2.5's? must be an american thing... Canada dont have that.... Looking at my Nissan Model Line Up Sheet..... Even for the 2.5 +Premium package they dont give you the HID (which i find baffling) the HID will only come into play on the 3.5's

that is the OEM one. Find one thats painted to your code and have a body shop install it (or yourself but i advise against it) they wont charge much for just an install. I spent 600 on installs and paint on stillen lip, eye lids, cmod grill, rear diffuser paint, and the spoiler install... Not f*** bad to be honest.

It might be cheaper to get everything I want attached, and painted at the same time then?
Or do different shops charge differently? I might have some connections that could help me with that regardless.

usually the more you have the cheaper things will all together... If you were to bring things in seperately everytime or what ever you wont get a discount.... That's business 101. so figure out what you want done and try to get thigns done all together. Do what you can yourself = friends help and yeah let the shops do the rest.
