Assuming you have standard brake lights and not LEDs, then it may be as simple as the wrong light in one of the turn signals in the back. Not uncommon at all. I haven't looked at the 04 wiring yet but it is not unusual for the cruise cancel to be connected directly to output of the brake switch which is then connected to the brake lights. If the wrong bulbs have been used for the blinkers then they will now essentially be cross wired to the the brake lights and the cruise control.fakethis wrote:Hey, I'm new to the forum. I have tried searching for this problem, and I haven't been able to come up with much, so sorry if this is a repost. Everyone here seems very helpful.
I just bought an '04 G35X Sedan, and everything was great - until I used the cruise control. When I have the cruise engaged, using either turn signal cancels it. The cruise remains "on" but I have to resume or re set my speed. Basically, using a blinker causes the car to behave the same way tapping the brake pedal does.
Next, I was pulling out of work last night with my blinker on, and my buddy who was behind me let me know that my hazards were on! Both blinkers cause the hazards to go on, but the dash indicator shows just the turn signal. Help!
I looked at the wiring guide I found on here, but that doesn't mean much to me. I'm disappointed in myself for not checking every feature before purchasing the vehicle. I love it, obviously, but I know that electrical problems are a pain in the a** and can get very expensive.
Thanks for the help!

This may be way off since I don't have a 2004 manual. I looked at the 2005 and I believe that one uses LEDS for the stop lights.fakethis wrote:Perry,
Thanks for the advice. I'll try this tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

BCM is body control module. Since I do not have a 2004 manual I am looking at this as if it is a 2005. On the 2005 the turn signals come off of the same point for front and back. So if you are getting the signal for you front right hand turn signal then you back right hand turn signal should be recieving the same signal. In other words the BCM appears to be working for the front turn signals and you have a wiring problem going to the rear turn signals.fakethis wrote:Yes, it uses LED for the brake lights. Update on the problem: When the brake pedal is NOT being pressed the front blinkers work fine, the rear blinkers don't even blink. When the brake IS pressed, the rear flashes like the hazards, front still work.
What's the BCM? Is this one of those things were I should just take it to an Infiniti dealer, bend over, and take it?
I now have the 2004 Sedan Manual. It appears that the other manual I had was for the 2005 Coupe. The main difference is that the 2005 Coupe appears to have a combined parking lamp/turn signal in the front.fakethis wrote:Yes, it uses LED for the brake lights. Thanks very much for taking the time to look into this. I really appreciate it.pfarmer wrote:

Basically you put on your left turn signal which then tells the BCM (body control module) your intentions. The BCM outputs a positive signal to the left front and left back turn signal lamps which are connected to ground turning the lamps on.
The first part of this then should be to see why your rear lamps do not light up. I would move to the rear of the car and take a look at the lamps to see if they just happen to be burned out. They appear to be single element lamps, the same goes for the front, make sure this is the case. If not then you should replace them with the proper lamps. In short since the front and backs are common then when one works, the other should as well. The fact that the fronts continue to function with the brake depressed indicates two issues. One is that of the back blinkers not functioning with the fronts even through they are connected together. The second is that the backs start to blink as if the hazards are on. Are you sure the blinkers in the back are what are flashing and not the stop lights?
What occurs if you do turn the hazards on?
Also do these tests with the cruise control off as you have more important issues at this point other than the cruise control that needs to be dealt with first.
Make sure that the hazards are in fact turned off and that you do not have your brake depressed when checing turn signal function.

Assuming the LED bar is a stock one it is connected directly to the same output from the stop switch as the left and right stop lights. Also the manual I now have is for the 2004 Sedan, not coupe.fakethis wrote:okay another update: The LED bar on the back of the subwoofer between the back seats (I believe this is the top brake light) does not illuminate at all.
Thanks
