you have to drop the pan to remove the front cover. The oil sump is bolted to the front cover and can only be removed by removing the oil pan.

The KA doesn't need to have the headstuds replaced however if you can afford it then I would suggest replacing them for a safety measure (especially after a blown headgasket, may have warped the head and stretched a bolt).

Take the head off, have it milled.

Make sure you remove all the old headgasket material and clean the surface well so you get a good seal.

Yes, you have to remove the oil pan to do the timing chain overhaul.

I'd suggest getting the Nismo engine mounts, check on Ebay for them I've seen a few sets up for cheap.

Headstuds - go with OEM or ARP (ARP's a bit of a waste if your just going N/a)

I was bidding on a set but would rather just buy them. so if you know anybody selling them :asmile. plan on going turbo. once you have boost everything else is a waste.

but if you like stuff that's reusable then get the arp's, they don't stretch quite like stock replacements so they can be retourqed many times over.

Right but if he is just driving it around in n/a form then there should be no reason to use ARP studs since the head shouldn't have to come on and off several times.
