Okay so I got my new shifter bushings in today from daunttless and replaced them. Only took about 20 minutes, most of that was spent trying to get the lower bushing off  . Anyway, everything went well, the car shifts wonderfully. No more missed shifts or struggles to get it in gear and it has that lovely notchy feeling of a new car. However there is still some wobble in it. I'm guessing it got reduced by about 40%, but it's still enough that it annoys me.

Now I'm just guessing, but I noticed below the retaining pin (or ring, whatever you wanna call it) there is a metal ring and then another "bushing" piece of plastic on top of the ball of the shifter. My impression is that those should be relatively tight. However, they are relatively loose, as the ring can be fully rotated and the plastic bushing just kinda cambers around.

So, does anyone know how I can fix this? Where can I get these parts, and is this what's causing the looseness?

hey sygerwulf, do you grind gears with the new short shifter? or not? i was told you'd be apt to grind gears more with the short shifter kit. and what kind of kit did ya get? B&M?

Heh all I did was replace the stock shifter bushings with new ones sky : )

And if you just pay attention to what you're doing you won't grind gears anymore then you did with the regular shifter, it just takes some adjustments to how you shift is all.

i drive former_240_s14's car all the time when he is in town, i never grind gears. i didn't think a shortshifter would make you grind gears....strange.
