so my next step into making my s13 a braking monster finally pulled through today. i had recently bought 2 front brembo rotors and decided to go the whole brake route and buy some z32 calipers. i'd been searching for awhile and finally got ahold of a pair of front ones for 125$. i'm going to do all the braking upgrade on the front two wheels because thats where i'm going to do all the braking anyways. after the rotors and the new z32's come in i'm going to get hawk brake pads and steel braided brake lines. i'm also going to paint the z32 calipers bright red. once they're all on, not only with i brake like a mutha, i'll be styling.

so what do you guys think?

hmm, you talk as if this is not like one of the most common mods on any 240, but better brakes are always good, nice plan. You may want to upgrade the rears and get a better m/c for better balance.

well since this is pretty much the setup EVERYONE HAS.....we all think it's decent. Get it done and then we'll believe you.

i dont have it.....but then again i dont got power to need it, i plan on just using some better pads. one question though, ive been told solid rotors are the best against warping (or not warping i should say) as opposed to slotted or cross drilled. is this true and if so what are the benefits with using slotted or cross drilled rotors? no i havent searched but im about to now

Got a link? I need brakework on my stock 240 too. Might as well see if it's worth doing something extra while I'm at it.

hi guys

the braking system itself, per se, does not determine the stopping distance of the car.

the grip level of the TIRE you're using will determine how fast you can stop.

the z32 brakes will only give you a really, really short increase (and sometimes even decrease) over the stock stopping distance.

the main reason to upgrade to z32 brakes is to combat fade, especially on the track (if you're making repeated 120mph > 35mph stops, or something) and for the bling of the "NISSAN" logo.

^ that is true. Cars with giant Brembo set ups actually have VERY similar 60-0 as stock brakes. The advantage of the brembo setup is you can do it over, and over, and over.....
