After a few track events, and 10K miles of driving, the Hawk pads I was running (on stock Brembo rotors) were pretty shagged.
Not being one to mess with resurfacing rotors, I opted for some Powerslot drilled and slotted rotors and a set of Ferodo DS2500 pads (these came highly recommended, evewn over the Hawk pads).
The Ferodo pads appear, at first glance, to have a coarser and perhaps "softer" composition than the Hawks. I figured between the drilled / slotted rotors and the coarser pad compound, these things would sound like a wood chipper.
After a proper bedding-in procedure, I can report that I was WAY off. These are incredible. ABS engages WAY sooner, which means lockup occurs sooner, and initial "bite" is much more aggressive. Pedal feel is pretty similar, with a little more feedback. Noise is about the same.
Did a couple pretty aggressive stops from 80 mph, which would create some "gassing" fade on the old set - No more gassing, probably due to the slotting.
Can't wait to hit an HPDE with these and see how they do diving into a corner.
