First off.. this is a fantastic board.. have been crusing the list since I joined, and find tons of info. Now, I'll ready for new rubber and have found a great deal on a set of Dunlops, 235/55-17's. I have always bought 4 tires at once, but in reading the posts, see that many use different sizes, front and back. Is this harmful in any on the AWD sedans? Also will the 235 fit without rubbing. Next question/situation; I REALLY..REALLY want to get 18inch rims also. I've seen a couple pic's on the board of other sedans wit 18's and want to know what my tire size limit is. I've used the tire calculator, but want to hear some first hand info Let me know.. and this is the first salvo... next comes new intake and as much exhaust as I can afford....Gage (lovin life in the G lane) Daring

Hey there,

With a G35X you need to keep all the tires and wheels the same size or you will seriously damage the transfer case. I am unsure of specifics about max allowable tire size but as long as they are the same and not something too ridiculous you should be alright. There are many members here who have different tires on their cars, I know the Sedan sport 18s are the same size and look very good on the 04 Sedans.
