I've searched the forums and haven't seen this method listed, and its better than the ones i've seen. Requires only a little more work, but its worth it, you don't have to cut any factory wires and you can leave the sleepy eyes out and turn your lights on or off.
First, go get some .25" male and femal connectors, you need 6 male and 10 female, get extras. Then get some 16 gauge wire, i used speaker wire. Get 2 switches, you'll also need a wire cutter/stripper.
Then, in the fuse box under the hood take the lid off, noting the position of the Headlight retractor relay, marked H/L RET CONT on the lid. Take this out and set it in the empty spot in the fuse box. Next follow the wiring diagram here and connect the relay to its connector as shown, with the switches in between 1/2 and 3/4.
Now, take the switches and make sure they are both facing the same way. Since i used speaker wire, i made sure that the textured wire was on the left on both switches, that way on is to the left and off is to the right. I just taped the two together and then taped them to the fuse box cover. A nicer version would be to run the wires to the switches to the inside of the car, so you can control it without opening the hood.
Make sure both switches are in the on position, as mine are in the pic above. Use the headlight open/close button on the dash to open them (not the light switch mounted on steering column). Now go turn both switches off.
Now push the headlight open/close button again, since the switches are off, nothing happens. Now toggle one of the switches on and off quickly. If its the right switch the headlights will start to close when you switch it on, then stop when you switch it off. If nothing happens use the other switch. Adjust to the proper height by toggling the switch on and off quickly.
Now your lights are in the sleepy eye position, they will stay that way until you have the switches back on, or if one switch is on until you press the open/close button again.
Now you can turn your headlights on and off without worrying about the sleepy eye resetting, and it only costs about $5 and takes 20 minutes.
Enjoy, this method wasn't listed on this site or any other that i could find, so hopefully it will be helpful.
